- Dulcolax 10 mg (bisacodyl) is a product used to treat constipation. It specifically stimulates the natural evacuation process in the lower region of the gastrointestinal tract. It acts as a laxative from the diphenylmethane derivatives group. Dulcolax suppositories are indicated in patients for preparation of diagnostic procedures, in pre- and post-operative treatment, and in conditions which require defecation to be facilitated.
- Dosage and administration of Dulcolax adult: Adult and children above 10 years old: 1 suppository (10 mg) daily Dulcolax suppositories should be unwrapped and inserted into the rectum, pointed end first. The same procedures apply for preparation of diagnostic procedures, in pre- and post-operative treatment. Also, in medical conditions that require facilitated defecation.
- Warning and precautions for Dulcolax adult: The use of suppositories may lead to irritation and painful sensations especially for patients with ulcerative proctitis and anal fissure. Store 10 mg suppositories at temperatures not exceeding 25°C.
